Woah woah woah. I’m in the mood for a good argument and I need to rant. I saw this post and it made me think.
Have you seen the effort it takes to buy a gun legally? You could get through 4 years of college in the time it takes. And big boy guns cost money! Education is free to you for your life until college.
Plus, you have to be 18 in the US (not sure where this photo was taken but since it’s in English and it’s ignorant it probably is the US) to legally own a firearm. And that means 12 years of education for you already, bucko. If you want to obtain a firearm illegally or use one of daddy’s, then that is your own prerogative.
And, of course guns cost less than education. Because they are less valuable than education. Why is that such a surprise? So, actually, (and I know I sound like a massive cock here but oh well) whoever made this sign-in addition to all of you tumblrites who blindly reblogged this-is showing a terrible lack of intellect here.
(And, the reverse of this guy’s poster says ‘Be a criminal get more funding.’ Not sure what that is directed towards. But 99% of criminals have no funding. That’s why they are criminals. What an idiot.
I think the point was not that buying a gun should be more difficult, but rather, education shouldn’t be so difficult to attain. And when I say “get an education,” I mean getting a degree so you can have job that is most likely more meaningful to you that you would enjoy more so your life can be more enjoyable. At least, that’s what I got out of it
Right, I agree with you that getting a meaningful education is hard. And expensive (all of us with loans can attest). And it shouldn’t be so costly. But that’s a small part of education, the fact that only a small percent actually go through with it.
In regards to the photo, he could have used anything. “It “Is easier to buy cigarettes than my education “, “I “Is easier to buy a television than my education. “I
But he used gun to illicit a very specific reaction. It appears to have worked.
